چکیده

We consider a m uniform parallel machines scheduling problem with two jobs A and B with nA and nB operations, respectively, and equal processing times. Job A is associated with a general cost function F, whereas makespan is considered for job B. As we are dealing with two conflicting criteria, we focus on the calculation of strict Pareto optima for F and C max criteria. We also tackle some particular cases of F and provide polynomial algorithms.

Efficient algorithms for scheduling equal-length jobs with processing set restrictions on uniform parallel batch machines

We consider the problem of scheduling jobs with equal lengths on uniform parallel batch machines with nonidentical capacities where each job can only be processed on a specified subset of machines called its processing set. For the case of equal release times, we give efficient exact algorithms for various objective functions. For the case of unequal release times, we give efficient exact algor...

A Heuristic Algorithm Approach for Scheduling of Multi-criteria Unrelated Parallel Machines

In this paper we address a multi-objective scheduling problem for unrelated parallel machines. In unrelated parallel systems, the processing cost/time of a given job on different machines may vary. The objective of scheduling is to simultaneously determine the job-machine assignment and job sequencing on each machine. In such a way the total cost of the schedule is minimized. The cost function ...

Scheduling interfering job sets on parallel machines

We consider bicriteria scheduling on identical parallel machines in a nontraditional context: jobs belong to two disjoint sets, and each set has a different criterion to be minimized. The jobs are all available at time zero and have to be scheduled (non-preemptively) on m parallel machines. The goal is to generate the set of all non-dominated solutions, so the decision maker can evaluate the tr...

Minimizing Makespan on Identical Parallel Machines

A heuristic algorithm that uses iteratively LPT and MF approaches on different job and machine sets constructed by using the current solution is developed to solve a classical multiprocessor scheduling problem with the objective of minimizing the makespan. Computational results indicate that the proposed algorithm is very competitive with respect to well-known constructive algorithms for a larg...

A bi-objective model for a scheduling problem of unrelated parallel batch processing machines with fuzzy parameters by two fuzzy multi-objective meta-heuristics

This paper considers a bi-objective model for a scheduling problem of unrelated parallel batch processing machines to minimize the makespan and maximum tardiness, simultaneously. Each job has a specific size and the data corresponding to its ready time, due date and processing time-dependent machine are uncertain and determined by trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. Each machine has a specific capacity,...
